Withing the framework of the UNIDO’s Global Eco Industrial Park Programme, the GEIPP-Egypt project is organizing a 2-day training on Resource Efficiency and Clean Production (RECP).

The aim of the training is to support and encourage the industries to set up a monitoring system for material and energy flows in their industrial processes, identify sources and causes of pollution, inefficiencies, identification of RECP options and their implementation and, establish an Environmental Management System (EMS) policy and action plan in their industries, including guidance on elaboration of internal management procedures related to good housekeeping and cost savings.

The training takes place over 2 days per round at the following beneficiary Industrial Parks (IPs) of GEIPP-Egypt:

Orascom Industrial Park, Ain Sokhna, Suez on 22 to 23 January 2024

Robbiki Industrial Park, Badr city on 28 to 29 January 2024

Polaris Industrial Park, Giza on 30 to 31 January 2024

The training will cover the following topics:

(1) Cleaner production assessment, energy consumption, process losses, pollution sources, cleaner production options, improving the work environment and the assessment of pollution abatement opportunities (low and high-cost opportunities).

(2) An overview of Environmental Management System (EMS) design and implementation including EMS important aspects, requirements, benefits, management responsibilities (roles and responsibilities), setting goals and environmental programmes.

The training targets technical staff in resident companies of the 3 beneficiary IPs, however, technical professionals the from Egyptian Industries in general, particularly females, are strongly encouraged to participate.
