Project Steering Committee – 5th Meeting

The Global Eco-industrial Parks Programme (GEIPP) – Egypt project held its 5th steering committee meeting on 27 June 2024. The project team presented to the members the project’s progress from January to June to 2024 and the workplan for from June to December 2024. This gave the members the opportunity to share their insights and strategic direction to the project.

The project steering committee is chaired by the Ministry of Trade and Industry and co-chaired by the Embassy of Switzerland in Egypt. The meeting included the following keynotes:

• Mr. Amr Hazzaa, Advisor to the Minister and Head of Developmental Projects Unit – Ministry of Trade and Industry, Egypt
• Ms. Michal Harari, Deputy Head of International Cooperation – Embassy of Switzerland in Egypt
• Ms. Gihan Baioumy, on behalf of the UNIDO Representative – Regional Office Hub in Egypt, UNIDO

The meeting also included, an Overview of Project Progress and achieved impacts on the policy development level and at the Industrial Parks presented by Ms. Shahenaz Fouad, National Project Coordinator and Ms. Ghada Mohamed, Technical Project Coordinator, UNIDO, as well as, an overview of the foreseen Project Workplan presented by Ms. Adriana Alzate, Technical Lead and Project Coordinator.

Mr. Rana Singh, Project Manager, UNIDO, delivered the closing remarks.
