Free Professional Training Programme for future experts in Eco-Industrial Parks in Egypt (EIPs)
Do you want to strengthen your knowledge about Eco-industrial Parks (EIPs)? Would you like to learn more about resource efficiency and cleaner production directly from the experts? Do you have a passion to work and pursue a career in the environmental field?
The Global Eco-industrial Parks Programme (GEIPP) – Egypt is launching a Call for Applications for a training programme, consisting of 3 separate training courses. The training courses will take place in Cairo, Egypt. At the end of the courses, selected participants will have the opportunity to participate in hands-on field missions, together with EIP experts. The field missions will take place in the industrial parks UNIDO is working with. The target audience of this training programme is composed of local service providers and young professionals who have completed or are enrolled in educational programmes related to environmental, economic or social studies.
The training courses cover:
- Course 1: EIP Approach (12-13 July 2023).
The course introduces the EIP concept, the EIP international framework, EIP development stages, and presents international case studies. The participants will apply EIP International Framework, UNIDO EIP assessment tool, UNIDO EIP selection tools on case studies.
- Course 2: Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP) Assessment (18-19 July 2023)
The course dives deep into the concept of resource efficiency and cleaner production, its linkage to EIP framework, RECP assessment methodology, best available technologies, and best environmental practices.
- Course 3: Industrial Synergies (IS) (25 July 2023)
The course introduces the concept of industrial symbiosis (IS), its linkages to RECP and circular economy, industrial synergies and how to develop them, and practical challenges and drivers faced by EIP/IS.

Please note that all courses will be offered face-to-face. Once selected, the participants will be informed of the venue details.
Who should apply:
- Age: 24-40 years
- University degree in environmental science, engineering, social science, or business management
- Prior experience in consultancy in any of the abovementioned fields or interest to pursue a career in the EIP field
- Availability on the proposed training dates
- Fresh graduates are also welcome to apply

Please note that all training dates are tentative and participants will be informed as soon as dates are confirmed. The training will take place in a venue in Cairo, Egypt.
The GEIPP-Egypt project is implemented under the framework of the UNIDO Global Eco-Industrial Parks Programme (GEIPP), funded by the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) and implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MoTI). It aims at demonstrating the benefits of EIP approaches in scaling up resource productivity and improving economic, environmental and social performances of businesses and thereby contribute to inclusive and sustainable industrial development.
