Training-of-Trainers for Eco-industrial Parks in Egypt
In the framework of the Global Eco-industrial Parks Programme (GEIPP)– Egypt, UNIDO organized a new training programme to provide capacity building to technical experts who can support mainstreaming of the EIP approach at industrial parks in Egypt. The training programme consists of 3 in-class training courses and 1 on-job-training. The programme intends to build the capacity of technical experts who can support mainstreaming of the EIP approach at industrial parks in Egypt
The 2nd training course in the Eco-Industrial Parks (EIP) capacity building programme took place on the 18th and 19th of July. The course “Resource Efficiency and Cleaner Production Assessment Methodology” was organized and instructed by a consulting consortium consisting of #SHiFTERRA Consultancy (Egypt) and AIH Econogistics (South Africa), and it introduced the concept of Resource Efficiency and Cleaner Production (RECP), methodology, tools, and showcased previous projects and case studies from Egypt and the world.
The audience came from different backgrounds such as environmental consultancies, governmental agencies, academia, and industrial park operators.
GEIPP #Egypt is implemented under the framework of the Global Eco-Industrial Parks Programme (#GEIPP) in Developing and Transition Countries currently, funded by the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (#SECO), and implemented by #UNIDO in cooperation with the Ministry of Trade and Industry. The training course was organized by a consulting consortium consisting of #SHiFTERRA Consultancy (Egypt) and AIH #Econogistics (South Africa).
